Sensory Processing

How your child senses the world around them plays a big role in their ability to regulate and respond to daily life.

OT can help you learn how your child perceives their environment and help with regulating that input or their response.

Sensory processing is a continuous circle:

  1. your child receives sensory information

  2. their brain processes what to do with that information

  3. they respond

Your child’s senses include:

  • taste, sight, sound, smell

  • tactile (light touch, texture, temperature)

  • vestibular (movement)

  • proprioception (deep pressure)
